Dan Loredan studied Music at Bucharest Music University, later specializing in Composition at the Music Academy of Bucharest, Romania. There he studied composition, orchestration, counterpoints, music forms and harmony under the guidance of master composer Alexandru Pascanu
He also attended five years of masterclasses at Conservatorium in Tilburg, Tne Netherlands, where he studied Music Improvisation and Composition with Willem Kuhne.
Holding Dutch nationality, he is fluent in Dutch, English, German and Romanian. He divides his time between studio work and conducting and accompanying his choirs on piano.
Working primarily in independent film and with theater companies, Dan has pursued artistic activities across a wide range of genres. His work in applied music spans short films, documentaries, television, animation, theatre, commercials and ballet. He has also composed numerous concert works, including piano and flute concertos, four symphonies for symphonic orchestra and a Requiem tittled Lacrimae Mundi , written for four opera soloists, choir and symphonic orchestra.
His feature film scores include Secret of Teutonian Cavaliers, History Travels, Countess Bathory, Fortificated Church Prejmer, and Fagaras Citadel, the latter earning a nomination for Best Music Score at the 2012 Romanian Film Awards, Corona Film Festival.
He also composed the score for the Dutch documentary Meijereistad. Kroniek van een Stad, directed by Christ van Liempd. (2022-2025).
His theater work includes music for the Dutch production of Anna, Hanna and Johanna written by Marianne Fredriksson, directed by Peter van Tiel (Theater Nat PIek. Uden, 2007).
In 1994, he composed the music score for UNITER (National Theater Bucharest) project Trupa pe Butoaie, directed by Ioan Victor Frunza, colaborating with acclaimed international actors such as Vlad and MIhaela Radescu, Andrei Titieni and others.
As Conductor,Dan premiered his original Requiem Lacrimae Mundi at Lambertus Church in Veghel,The Netherlands, with four opera soloists, Choir and Symphonic Orchestra. He also co-created the *Sing Along Christmas Concerts* with composer Ad Maas and Conductor Harry van Hoof in Eindhoven (2014,2015, and 2016).
In 2025, he composed the music score for a project by international pole dancer,artistic director, and choreographer Elena Gibson, based in London, UK.
